April, 2018. We met with Dan and he designed the built-in entertainment center to include an ethanol gel fireplace. We had selected the fireplace, shipped it to Elite Woods and they would design the entertainment center accordingly. They were able to match the stain we wanted (per our dining room table). Also, the price we received for this project was surprisingly acceptable!
Dan advised us that on the second trip to our house, a final measuring would take place, insuring the components would be made correctly and fit the space we had. Dave came out and measured and the process of making the cabinets would begin.
After the delivery and the installation began, we were informed that our television and sound bar, etc was not going to fit inside the cabinet. When Dave showed up to review the issue, I was not impressed when asked if our television, sound bar and all the components were originally configured when Dan came out. The designs had the components calculated within the design.
The top had to be removed and the top had to be redesigned. The first attempt was a failure and looked cheap. The second attempt was better and once installed, gave the look better than what we originally designed for.
The glass panels installed on each door had some small etchings in a corner and we were told this came from the glass manufacturer and because the glass was tempered, the stamp/etching was required. However, many panes had to be removed and re-installed to match all the panels according to the etching.
When it was all said and done, the built-in we imagined and paid for was great! Adding the height to the middle top was a small bonus to us because it made the cabinet look even better! We also added led rope lighting inside the cabinets and are really pleased we did because it did make a huge difference on the look at night!
I certainly would use Elite Woods again and would recommend them to anyone needing custom made furniture for their house. However, I would tell them to definitely expect delays and frustrations. Elite Woods did tend to the issues, but we felt that when the issue was there, we did not feel like a priority because he had his guys moving on to the next project(s) and they didn’t seem to allow any time for necessary issues that may come up. That part we are really disappointed in since we did spend a great deal of money.
The entertainment center is beautiful. The craftsmanship is astounding! The installers are very respectful and courteous. They just need to insure their customers are their priority and allow for issues.
