First Thoughts on Martha Stewart Living Kitchens:

Here at KitchensRated.com we’re huge fans of Martha Stewart. Massive fans. So when we found out that she was giving her name and design know-how to a range of kitchen cabinets and accessories to say we were excited would be an understatement. When we found out that they were to be affordable and easily available through Home Depot stores… well we were practically camped outside Home Depot waiting for the Martha Stewart Living Kitchens display to be installed.

We were a little concerned that the finished product wouldn’t be top-class given the price point and sales location, but Martha Stewart is one clever business lady and for her to give her name to a product – particularly a product as significant as a kitchen – you can be pretty sure her people will have been all over quality with a fine comb.

Martha Stewart Living Kitchens are produced under license by the well known MasterBrand group – a company that offers a wide spectrum of cabinetry products designed to satisfy every budget and lifestyle. Each line in their family of brands provides the same great service, product innovation and quality that MasterBrand is known for, assuring your dream kitchen becomes a reality.

When we first set eyes on the cabinets and doors we were incredibly impressed by the finish and overall quality – beautiful colors and designs, with hard wearing economical surfaces just where they’re needed. We try to remain professional at all times in our reviews – and in all but this one it may have been a successful wish. Martha however has blown us away.

Sure some of the cabinet materials may not be of the highest quality – on the particleboard front – but this is how such an exclusive looking and thoughtfully designed range is available at the pricepoint it’s selling at.

Our particular favorites are Skylands, Ox Hill and Seal Harbor.

Had cabinets installed in October of 2019, after about 3 weeks, noticed peeling on corners. Called rep, they came out in November and said that they will order all new fronts for drawers and cabinets but would not get them until after the holiday. During the time of wait, we did not put anything in the cabinets and the carpenter did not even install the knobs; after opening up a couple of the cabinets, they fell off the hinges. We had to put longer screws in them also, on two of the doors, the corner seems started to separate. End of January, got the new doors and drawers, Carpenter replaced about 4 weeks later and now, some of the new doors are falling off the hinges as well as peeling. Never again will I ever get her product. Looking into a lawyer at this point. Medium size Galley kitchen and the price before sale was over $13,000. Not expensive, but by no way cheap. DONT BUY HER PRODUCT!!!

I looked at Martha Stewart shaker cabinets for 3 yrs. Finally I redid our small kitchen and paid twice as much other cabinets would be. The kitchen looks beautiful but the cabinets right away bubbled when steam or water hit them. Then they started coming apart! The quality is so disappointing. I had to sent 3 cabinets back but continue to have the same problems.

My shaker style cabinets began to bubble and separate on many door /drawer fronts
Within the first year, horrible low level mosture resistance. I have expensive counter,
Good protection but cabinets are so poorly mfg.also chipping, flaking, dents …
Surface is so thin the slightest tap creates a chip or dent. So disappointd in quality.
Laminates are a poor choice for a kitchen , and theres only two of us so i hardly even
Cook. Save your money get a better quality cabinet as i would never recommend
    These Martha Stewart cabinets!

Horrible experience! After 3 months and missing drawer and door plus a defective door that did come with order! Back ordered they said! Having trouble with color!! They are white!! Asked if we wanted a different color! Give me a break!! Martha Stewart doesn’t need to be in this business!! Do not recommend these cabinets ordered from Home Depot!

Purchased and paid in full MS cabinets from Home Depot. This was in January 2014! Still waiting on cabinets. We are on the fifth re-order. Obvious issues with quality control. Cabinets and doors continue to arrive flawed. Home depot has distanced themselves but still have my money. Master brands rep keeps apologizing but that got old long ago. The cabinets that are installed are nice. If not for custom granite we would have pulled up cabinets and returned long ago. Hoping Home Depot , Master brand and Martha Stewart compensate fully.

I am nearing the end of an install of MSL cabinets- the quality control is the worst. I am currently awaiting a fifth shipment of one particular piece and had to go through 3 shipments on several others before anything resembling acceptable. I now have 4 panels lined up in my living room that are not usable, one of them being the totally wrong (opposite) color. I am very unhappy with this experience.

MasterBrand cabinets make the Martha Stewart line sold through HD.

MasterBrands quality control is terrible. They also pick whichever freight line that will lose and destroy their product. Their customer service is non-existent.

They actually shipped us defective cabinets with their own pink quality control rejection slips inside the cabinets!!!

We have been living this nightmare for 4 months and are going to have Home Depot take back the entire 39 cabinet order and replace with something MasterBrand does NOT manufacture.

The Martha line looks great but the company making them is just awful.
