This company has many locations under Elkay, their parent company, I can’t speak for the quality of their cabinets in each state but in Colorado, my experience has been very poor (a nightmare actually). I bought a new home and 90% of cabinets, frame etc. had at least one chip, scratch etc. on them (some much worse than others). Many of these issues we’re from poor install. When the company came out with replacement parts on a few of the more damaged pieces, the replacement parts we’re scratched before they even installed them. Luckily, they had enough sense not to install those pieces.

I had to miss many days of work waiting for these guys to come out to estimates etc. When the big day finally came for a full blown review of all the damage, it took 4.5 hours. Based on that assessment, Elkay “worked with my homebuilder” (essentially fought over who was paying for what) to get all the problem ones replaced (again nearly all of them but 3-4 pieces…in 4 rooms. After many long months, they said they were ready to install. I arrived to find bits of sawdust (not cleaned up of course) and only about 3 cabinets/drawers replaced. They also added an obnoxious ugly molding that doesn’t fit (also pre-scratched and damaged BTW) that apparently was supposed to go on my neighbors house. They nicked a piece of furniture in the hallway (which isn’t even a room with cabinets).

When I finally got a call for an explanation, the answer was that all the guys that put together the original work are no longer with the company. HUH? The problem of course with this is ALL the people that did the install, delivered the materials, put on the wrong parts and ignored the majority of the approved work order etc. ARE still with the company. I’ve since called one of the executives at the corp office and contacted an attorney. Up until now, there has still been NO apology, no accountability, no remorse and no reasonable explanation, let alone a plan. They owe the builder an apology too. In fact, my builder had to find the deal they signed for ELKAY because Elkay supposedly couldn’t find it (that will be a great line in court for them to defend). What kind of business losses project plans, checks etc. after a few months?

In short, Quality sucks. Service sucks. Integrity is no where to be found. Don’t buy. If you buy a new house. Check all the cabinets. If there’s even a little damage…RUN and run fast. Have builder replace with good cabinets or find another builder
