Thank you Lauren Tollise for your unbiased opinion from a Shiloh distributor. We purchased the high-end white Shiloh kitchen costing close to $20,000 2 years ago. The cabinet and door finish easily chips. We have 2 large cabinet doors that are peeling. By the way, our children are grown. Only my husband and I use this kitchen. These cabilnets will have to be replaced in the next few years. Absolutely poor quality finish!!

I bought Shiloh cabinets with a painted white finish, blue island 2 years ago and they are a piece of garbage. They arrived with dented corners that we didn’t catch so the manufacture wouldn’t cover. They dent and scratch with everything that touches them and the paint is peeling off. The store that we bought them from had the rep come to our home to view the cabinets and of course they were no help. He told us the peeling paint was from shoes hitting the doors (4 inches off the ground?) & we do not open our cabinets with our feet. The other theory he wanted to float was water damage. Uh, No. He then pointed out that their was no problem with the upper cabinets. So, I inspected them more closely after he left and sure eneough, there is cracking happening on the inside of the doors along the edge. The rep then admitted that 99% of his calls are for their white cabinets. Well, there is your anwer….It’s Shiloh’s process of painting the white cabinets. Blue island is holding up fine. What looks like bubbles is where the paint is peeling.

Well made with Terrible finish- does not hold up to daily use – after five years- one of the worst purchases I have made for our home. Finish has eroded down to the bare wood near handles. I was told that the problem is that we touched our kitchen cabinets with wet hands.

I have had these cabinets in my kitchen for 5 years. They are beautiful and well made. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the finish. We upgraded to a glaze – what a mistake. This finish has failed to hold up to daily use by 2 adults- it is down to the wood in many areas with the finish completely eroded away. We were told this was from wet hands. Who uses a water based finish in a kitchen? I wish I had gone with anything else..drawer photos are of 3 different draws and only a sample of the problems we have.

I have been selling Shiloh Cabinetry for over 10 years (working for different companies) and I think they are by far the best brand out there for the money! I have sold many different cabinet lines (Aristokraft, Diamond, Decora, Aspect, Wellborn, US Cabinet Depot, JSI, Koch, David Bradley, Starmark, Eclipse, and Custom Cabinetry), but I always come back to Shiloh. There are other brands that you might have a few more options with, but there is very little that Shiloh will not do, since it is a semi-custom line. They offer custom paint colors, but their standard paint color line is so extensive, I rarely have to take that path. I can also send them custom cabinet drawings and they will almost always build what I need. Most other semi-custom lines charge for glazes, distressing, and inset, where Shiloh offers these items for free. This cabinet line is well-built, well thought-out, and gives you the most bang for your buck.
